Down N' Dirty Fest
Duuuude. Okay so, the Down N’ Dirty Fest on Saturday lived up to its name – if you’re 1 of the 5 people in Northern VA that wasn’t there, then sucks to be you. There were 17 bands and 13 of them were local favs. Plus, The Right Coast (my new favs from PA – those guys are amazing), Sparks the Rescue, The Dangerous Summer AND The Audition. Back to the local lineup – there were a few Syke regulars, The Kindness of Strangers and Spark to Inferno – who always kill it, as well as a bunch of new/semi-new bands hitting the scene. Even though all the bands put on awesome sets, newcomers Another Treehouse Acquaintance, What a Night, Rescue the Hero and Brightview had bad @ss performances. Thanks to everyone who moseyed on over to the Syke table and saw all the stuff we were raffling off – did you guys check out the stellar new t-shirts designed by local artists?? Don’t be too bummed if you didn’t win this time around, just make sure you enter the raffle at our next show (when we’ll have a third brand spankin’ new artist tee!) Anyway, bottom line is that the Down N’ Dirty Fest was sick – good music, awesome people, fun day. Oh! And make sure you sign up for our mailing/email/text list to get updates on future Syke happenings so you’re not out-of-the-loop, like your friends.
