The OK Corral

If you’re going to stand out against a mass of talented musicians in the NOVA scene, then you need to make sure that your band isn’t doing the same old things that everyone else is. Meet The OK Corral from Springfield, VA.  With soulful vocals and traces of classic rock and even some blues, these guys are sure to weave their way into your heart (or at least onto your playlist). 

After coming together as an acoustic duo in the summer of 2007, long time friends Brett Nickley and Mike Matthews decided to focus their efforts on forming a full band and really making the music thing work before graduating college and, possibly, having the opportunity pass them by.

After releasing their acoustic EP (which included 5 original songs) in early 2008, they went through various musicians until they found the perfect line-up in July of that same year.  With the full band in place, The OK Corral had a newfound enthusiasm and determination to make themselves big in the Virginia music scene.  They were off to a running start as their first show was a sold out performance at one of the area’s favorite venues –(Jammin’ Java). Thanks to their unique approach and tireless efforts the band has gained recognition for several noteworthy things  such as being featured as AbsolutePunk.net’s band of the week and, obviously, winning Syke’s prestigious Band of the Month title.

Since the members of The OK Corral are all currently enrolled in colleges across the state, they aren’t playing as many shows as they might in their off-time.  That’s NOT, however, stopping them from creating rocking jams and continuing to build their fan base.  We can’t wait to see what happens next for these awesome musicians!
