Jammin Java July 5th: If you missed it...sucks to be you!

For all those awesome kids that decided fireworks on Saturday weren’t enough excitement for one weekend, the Syke show at Jammin’ Java on Sunday provided the explosion they were looking for.

McTwist started things off with some sweet original tunes and a few rockin’ cover songs. McTwist’s guitarist/singer, Chris, was one of our lucky Syke t-shirt raffle winners and his truly excited was classic.

Another local fav – Baigis – was in attendance and they added to the crowd excitement with their high energy songs (which MAY have had something to do with the Syke they drank backstage) and fun performance.

Sunday’s show was the last date on School Boy Humor (Vagrant Records) & Select Start’s Tour Up from the Floor Up tour and they both put on incredible performances.  School Boy Humor stole the show by beginning their set with drummer Greg’s cymbals on fire, and finishing by throwing tons of balloons into the crowd.

Sing Me Insomnia closed out the evening and performed a BRAND NEW song, Tip You With A Kiss, that (dare we say?) may be even catchier than their previous tunes. The crowd loved it and by the end of the set hardly anyone could hold on to their Syke can because they had their hands and arms in the air the entire time.
Lots of people came to hang out with me at the Syke table in between bands and made the evening that much cooler!  If you missed out on this show you don’t have to wait long to see our pretty Syke faces again…we’ll be back at Jammin’ Java next Monday (July 13th) for Hey Monday, This Providence, Stereo Skyline, The Bigger Lights and The Friday Night Boys!!! GET SYKED!
