While the band Rosy Likes Red adopted their name from a short story by Connor Kaos (RLR’s lead singer and founder), their success will certainly not be short-lived. Drawing inspiration from some pretty unlikely sources – like 19th Century Romanticism for starters – this up-and-coming pop-punk quartette puts a modern spin on some of their retro influences.
Since their beginnings a little over a year and a half ago, Rosy Likes Red have refined their sound (and skills) while touring throughout Northern Virginia, Maryland and D.C. and immersing themselves in the local music scene. You can frequently find Connor, Giuseppi, Byron and Andrew at area venues hanging out with friends and fans or supporting other local acts by dancing to their music (but only after Andrew’s mom has made them a batch of her homemade cupcakes….or they’ve got some Syke in ‘em!).
The guys in RLR have always had a love for music and were all in other bands prior to joining Rosy Likes Red: Andrew played in another pop punk band called Chapter 21, Giuseppi was in KSD – a reggae/jam band, and Byron played in the metal band Fly Cats. Their experience with, and love for, music shine through in their recordings and live performances.
With memorable lyrics and upbeat melodies, fans will instantly find themselves humming along to Rosy Likes Red’s infectious tunes and wanting to hear more. If you’re one of their many new fans (or even one from “way back when”) you’ll be excited to know that Rosy Likes Red will be hitting the stage at the Vans Warped Tour this summer and releasing their first EP this fall! In addition, they’ll continue making their mark on our scene so make sure you head out to one of their shows and say “Heyyyy!”
