Trustfall
For twins Max and Spencer Ernst making music is nothing new – they’ve been performing live for almost a decade, and writing songs for even longer. In September of last year Max and Spencer picked up Pat Shine on guitar and Greg Mallick on drums, formed Trustfall, and have been causing quite a stir in the DC Metro/NOVA music scene. While many NOVA bands are going in a pop rock/punk direction, Trustfall is unique in their soulful, “90’s rock-influenced” sound and that in itself is part of their overwhelming draw. Their lyrics are heartfelt and relatable, their vocals polished and their instruments well rehearsed. With influences ranging from Stevie Ray Vaughn to Incubus to Nirvana, Trustfall is able to carry some of that “grunge” rock into a modern arena. Syke actually had the great pleasure of sponsoring a Trustfall show in April at Jammin’ Java (a beloved NOVA venue) and were blown away by the talent of this quartette. It’s no wonder that their music has already been used on TV and in commercials, and they’re getting requests to play all over the country. For a fairly young band it’s also quite impressive that they’ve played at venues like the 9:30 Club in DC and for some pretty large audiences. Though it’s obvious that these guys take their music seriously and work hard, they have a great sense of humor and endearing stage presence that contribute to their instant success. If you haven’t listened to their self-titled EP or seen one of their live performances I definitely suggest you do. Oh, and be prepared to be amazed ;) Members: Links: www.myspace.com/trustfallband
